Despicable Me
Gwynneth Hall, DVM
Born and raised in the Midwest, the doctor grew up around cattle, horses, dogs, cats and rabbits. She graduated with a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1989 from the University of Tennessee after being told by an advisor that "girl's can't go to vet school". This planted the seed for her empire. In 1997 doc purchased a failing hospital here in Citrus County and made it her own after years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears. She is one of only a few veterinarians that treats birds and exotic pets in the area. An "A" personality, doc is a perfectionist and expects nothing but the best from her staff and herself. She is rumored to have bat-like hearing and is known to silently appear out of nowhere. She considers sarcasm one of her superpowers.
LIKES: the beach, cooking, scrabble, and making shrunken heads of her enemies
DISLIKES: failure, entitled people, reality TV, ketchup
Minions
Jessica and Suzanne
The dynamic duo of the front desk, these two ladies with sparkling personalities will go out of their way to be helpful and informative. They both suffer from pathologic cheerfulness, which is a welcome trait for our customer service representatives. They are the first and last faces you will see at the hospital.
LIKES: Disney, ice cream, a good cup of coffee, please & thank you
DISLIKES: snow, frowns, pineapple on pizza, liver and onions
Dierdra (Buffy)
A hurricane Andrew survivor, Dierdra came to work at the hospital 2007. A loyal and dedicated minion, she is the doctor's trusted right hand - man?. She is, however, an injury magnet. If it has a beak or claws, scratches or bites, Dierdra will bleed.
LIKES: romantic walks on the beach, sitting by the fire, band aides
DISLIKES: poop, fleas and ticks, eggplant, biting
Megan
Megan started as a baby technician while still in high school, and with proper care and feeding she has matured into a confident and exceptional minion. She is the doctor's trusted left hand - mom. Megan reproduced her very own baby minion, Dubee, in February of 2021 and added a second baby minion "Tax" on April 15th. We are all so proud of her (sniff).
LIKES: setting things on fire, chicken wings, bubble wrap
DISLIKES: road rage, snakes
Jessica 2
Our newest addition to the group, Jess is fitting right in with our crazy crew. She has an excellent sense of humor and a very bubbly personality. Jess 2 is a welcome addition to the minion family.
LIKES: caffeine, sugar, fishing
DISLIKES: negativity & bad attitudes
CHICKENHEAD (GOFFIN COCKATOO)
Under house arrest for assault and battery on his former owner. Chicken is now the official greeter at the hospital.
LIKES: interrupting people on the phone, flirting, head scritches
DISLIKES: small children, being ignored, other birds (go figure)
